Issue Position

If successful in this year long job interview with the voters of the 64th District and they decide to return me to Raleigh:

I will continue to work to improve our state economy by opposing job-killing tax increases. North Carolina's economy has turned the corner and is steadily improving. Alamance County taxpayers deserve a strong voice in Raleigh to protect their hard earned money. This is not the time to be taking more money out of the lean wallets of Alamance County taxpayers.
As a small business owner I understand that excessive regulations become needless obstacles to business growth and job creation. I know you have to work hard to succeed in any business, large or small. Government bureaucracy and red tape slows economic expansion and hinders economic progress. I will work to reduce obstacles to sound business growth.
I will support limited constitutional government and work to make our state government more efficient and effective thru evidence-based policy making.
I will support our University and Community College system.
As a former high school teacher and coach I will continue to work for locally controlled, results oriented safe schools, where educational achievement is the mission. I support a parent's right to choose the educational opportunities they believe are best for their children.
What is good for our families is good for our state. I believe in the traditional family, each child deserves a caring mom and dad in their home and I will fight to protect innocent human life.
I will defend our 2nd Amendment rights.
I voted in favor of the common sense Voter ID bill to ensure the integrity of our elections. I continue to support that legislation.
I will continue my work to protect children from sexual predators.
I will continue the efforts to accomplish a recodification of our entire criminal code with an emphasis on de-criminalizing what is essentially entrepreneurial activity.
