Congressman Cohen Announces Major Grants for UTHSC and St. Jude

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced major U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grants to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. UTHSC will receive $318,302 from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for research on blood diseases. St. Jude will receive $2,277,711 from the National Cancer Institute for work on cancer causes and prevention.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
"I'm pleased to announce this substantial investment in medical research during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This funding strengthens two of our premier medical research institutions while supporting lifesaving research that keeps scientists working in their labs."
