Issue Position

Tens of millions of dollars in additional funding for the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) was approved to cover cash flow shortfalls caused by natural disasters, repeal of the MAP Act and overspending at the agency. The state is facing work stoppages on hundreds of transportation projects and layoffs of potentially thousands of workers as a result shortfalls at the NCDOT. This bill meets immediate transportation funding needs and includes strict accountability measures to address natural disasters and help prevent future overspending.
