The Standing Up For Rape Victims Act allocates $6 million to clear the backlog of untested rape evidence kits throughout the state. It also puts in place new protocols to prevent any future backlogs. The new law brings much needed support to the victims of sexual assault and will help ensure their attackers are brought to justice.
