Our schools need higher standards, accountability, local control, and complete transparency. Nevada's student-teacher ratio is 37-1 -- Ranking Nevada the 4th worst in the country. We must do better! Our public schools should be a safe haven for learning and inspiring our next generation. Overcrowding results in our children getting less attention from our talented teachers and creates a difficult learning environment. Heidi is focused on finding ways to get more money directly into the classroom to help reduce class sizes. She believes that too much money is spent on administrative costs and not enough towards our teachers and students. Heidi is a strong supporter of Nevada's higher education system but also believes there is a role for private universities to open up new campuses or satellite campuses across our great state.
