On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, Congressman Al Green released the following statement:

"Today I am proud to distribute -- by way of a donation -- 10,000 masks to two nursing home facilities located in the Ninth Congressional District. Nursing homes are designed for individuals in the twilight of their life, and across our nation, these facilities have been hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic," Congressman Al Green stated. "This donation of 5,000 masks each to Paradigm at Westbury and Garden Terrace of Houston will help mitigate health risks for residents and staff of both facilities."

Green -- who represents the two skilled nursing facilities and their residents in Congress -- added, "I must thank Mr. George Yang for facilitating this donation with the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Houston and its president Jack Chang as well as Director General Peter Chen of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Houston. Personal protective equipment has been sorely needed during this global health crisis. It brings me joy to see our community leaders continue to pool their resources to help alleviate this burden for healthcare facilities, first responders, frontline workers, and people throughout the community as we each do our part to stop the spread of this deadly virus."
