Norton to Speak at Super Tax Day, A Free Tax Day Event, Saturday

Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) will speak at the United Planning Organization's (UPO) Super Tax Day event this Saturday, March 7th, at 9:45 a.m. at the R.I.S.E. Demonstration Center. UPO has partnered with the United Way National Capital Area (UWNCA) and Community Tax Aid (CTA) to offer free tax preparation to District residents. Norton said residents should bring Social Security cards, driver's licenses / IDs, and tax documents. Trained volunteers will answer questions and help prepare tax returns. To qualify, residents must make $56,000 or less.

"I am grateful to UPO and UWNCA for their tax preparation services for our residents, who continue to pay taxes without representation," Norton said. "Until statehood, our residents should not have to pay to pay taxes."
