Congresswoman Beatty Highlights $2.75+ Million in New Funding for Ohio's Third Congressional District

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently announced more than $1.9 million in funding to further groundbreaking research and critical community healthcare services in Ohio's Third Congressional District. In addition, the National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded a $817,220 grant to The Ohio State University to launch a digital communications project to improve mathematic skills and retention among elementary school children. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:

"Throughout my time in Congress, I have been a stanch advocate and champion for Ohio's Third Congressional District, and I have fought hard to secure the resources and support needed to ensure my constituents--especially our young people, no matter their zip code--have an opportunity for a brighter future. This latest round of federal funding and competitive grants will help in that effort by positioning more students for academic success and increasing access to high-quality, affordable healthcare, as well as fuel medical and scientific research that will benefit all Central Ohioans."

In addition to the NSF grant, funding highlights include:

HHS allotted $971,698 to Lower Lights Christian Health Center to continue serving the physical and psychological healthcare needs of all Central Ohioans regardless of income or insurance status; and
Nearly $1 million for The Ohio State University to make progress in the study of Alzheimer's Disease and in the fields of allergy, immunology, and transplantation.
