Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett (USVI), released the following statement mourning the loss of Dr. Eddie Donahue:

"I was saddened to hear of the loss Dr. Eddie Donahue, who was a good friend and thought leader. We will miss his staunch advocacy for arts and culture, his tremendous research writing skills, his performances, and his weekly radio talk-show. He believed in advocating for the restoration of social ills and promoting arts and culture throughout the United States and the Caribbean," Plaskett said.

Dr. Donahue has been a pillar of leadership and research in the Virgin Islands for so many years. His steadfast love for his adopted home and a keen eye for positive change in our community will be sorely missed.

"Eddie provided hours of great discussion. Jonathan and I spent a period of time with him and his mountain of manila folders discussing issues of the day. We send our condolences to his family.

"Dr. Donahue was a true renaissance man, cultured, and diverse in interests and passions. He was a true and honest gentleman."
