Cortez Masto Cosponsors Legislation Honoring Purple Heart Veterans and Families

Statement

U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) this week cosponsored legislation led by Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to honor Americans who have been wounded or killed while serving in the nation's armed forces. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Commemorative Coin Act would require the U.S. Treasury to mint coins in honor of Purple Heart recipients during 2021.

"We owe our nation's servicemembers and their families a debt of gratitude. Minting coins in honor of those wounded or lost in service to our country would be a powerful reminder to all Americans of the sacrifice made by these heroes and their families. I'm proud to join Senator Schumer in this effort, and I will continue working to support and honor our service members and veterans."
