Date: Sept. 28, 2019
Location: Hartford, CT

Governor Ned Lamont released the following statement responding to an editorial in today's edition of The Wall Street Journal ["States of Economic Comparison"], which noted the governor's efforts to both stabilize and grow Connecticut's economy, referencing his budgetary and fiscal restraints while also recognizing that wages and salaries in the state have increased four percent during the first two quarters of 2019:

"The Wall Street Journal is right. We are making the tough and necessary decisions to get our state moving again. This kind of endorsement shows that many around the country are taking notice of the new direction for Connecticut. We must build on the momentum. Now is the time to leverage the work we have already accomplished and make the critical investments our state needs to upgrade our transportation infrastructure and grow our economy. Together, let's send a message loud and clear that Connecticut is open for business not only today, but for generations to come."
