Issue Position

I am a big believer in the positive impact strong, traditional families provide to our community and state. Learning important values in life and developing a good work ethic begins in the home. Growing up, I benefited from an outstanding public education from kindergarten through graduating high school, and my children are students in public schools. When it comes to education, our leaders in Jackson should make sure that our teachers are paid fairly, that our classrooms are well equipped, and that our facilities are in top shape. That said, I believe our state government should recognize and respect parental choice when it comes to the health, well-being, and education of our children. The government should not infringe on the sacred right of parents to raise their children and make important decisions concerning their children. Whenever possible, the state should provide choices for families and guarantee better opportunities for success.
