Natural Resources Committee Chair Raúl Grijalva met the newly elected President of the Federated States of Micronesia, David Panuelo, on Thursday. Grijalva's Committee has jurisdiction over insular affairs, although he has given me that responsibility as Committee Vice Chair. We discussed the Compact of Free Association between FSM and the U.S., the implementation of new REAL ID requirements for compact migrants, and security issues in the Pacific. I look forward to a productive working relationship with President Panuelo.
