Issue Position

Michigan has the highest in the nation auto insurance premiums and the time has come for reforms. Michigan is the only state which has unlimited no-fault coverage. While it is true that unlimited coverage is good for those in catastrophic accidents, eventually a person reaches a limit to how much they can pay for auto insurance. Thomas is a firm believer that we have crossed that point in Michigan and he supports responsible reform.

Thomas supports making the following reforms:

Allowing Michigan residents to have a choice on the level of Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage.
Establishing a fraud authority to identify and stamp out those that are scamming the insurance system
Ensuring that health providers cannot charge astronomical prices for health care.
