Obamacare is wrong for the country and for Arkansas. It is job-killing, budget-busting legislation that puts the government in control of 1/6 of our economy. The state Medicaid program already accounts for 22% of the entire state budget at almost $4.5 billion. Under Obamacare's "Medicaid expansion," it would grow to 31% of the budget by 2022, leaving Arkansans with a higher tax bill or less funds for education, economic development, and infrastructure. Ending discrimination for pre-existing conditions was a positive step in the right direction, but market-driven solutions are a better answer to affordable coverage and financial protection.
