A HUGE issue in the Salt Lake Valley! Everyone WANTS clean air, and some people really NEED clean air for their very survival. Inversions are a health hazard. I ran a bill this year to recognize the Jordan School District for its fleet of natural gas school buses in the hope that other fleet operators will follow their lead. I also joined the Clean Air Caucus, which meets monthly to hear from experts about what can be done to improve air quality. It is rarely discussed, but I would like to explore the real possibility of moving the refineries to a windblown spot where their pollutants will not be trapped by topography. I also favor requiring that all vehicles at the Inland Port use electricity or natural gas.
