Dear Democratic Colleagues:

The historic participation in this month's election reflects the energy that we've seen build over the past two years. Having leadership in place who are able to strategically channel that excitement into a successful Democratic agenda will be critical to our continued success. That's why we endorse Congressman Ben Ray Luján for Assistant Democratic Leader.

As the Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, he led our efforts to flip the House by listening to his colleagues, making difficult decisions, and executing a thoughtful and comprehensive strategy that ushered in one of the most diverse classes of new Members in history.

Over his decade-long career in Congress, Ben Ray has been a fierce advocate for access to health care, a champion for clean energy and broadband deployment, and a leader in creating jobs and spurring economic growth both nationally and in his district. That determination was on display earlier this year when Republicans sought to rip protections away for mental health care, make it harder for women to access family planning services, and gut Medicaid. During a 27-hour Energy and Commerce markup on the Republican repeal legislation, Ben Ray was a leading voice on behalf of the American people and defended their right to high-quality, affordable health coverage.

We know that when it comes to voting on the side of American families and vulnerable populations, Ben Ray will deliver. We also know he will genuinely listen, create opportunities for all Members to grow, and diligently work to deliver on his commitments.

We look forward to supporting him to be our next Assistant Democratic Leader.

Sincerely,
