At the age of 18, I joined the United States Army. The Army allowed me to escape the horrible conditions of my childhood. I learned valuable things in the military. Because, in the army you wake up, you eat, you talk, you sleep, and you die together. The Army also taught me the meaning of community because in the army we are one team. This is the leadership style I would bring with me to Annapolis. In a time of limited budgets and resources, we must speak with one voice to ensure Charles County reaches her full potential.
