As the son of a single mom, I vividly recall her angst as she balanced staying home with me or getting paid for the day. During the 2017 legislative session, I was honored to co-sponsor legislation that would provide nearly 750,000 Marylanders with the security and knowledge that if they're sick they can have the time to get better and continue to afford the basic necessities.
