Issue Position: Recreational Marijuana and Taxation

Marijuana has become legalized and there is a potentially new revenue source that can help farmers, small businesses, and our economy. Our farmers have struggled for decades and those who choose to cultivate marijuana may be able to boost their revenue. Furthermore, we should support small "Mom n' Pop" dispensaries instead of big box corporations establishing monopolies in Vermont with the cannabis industry. This new source of taxes may help alleviate pressure on our state budget.
