Issue Position

While Julie believes law abiding citizens have a right to own guns, she strongly supports common sense protections to reduce gun violence. This includes background checks on all gun sales, giving law enforcement the ability to take guns away from individuals they have reason to believe pose a threat to themselves or the community, and keeping guns out of the hands of domestic abusers and the mentally ill. We can't stop every death from gun violence, but we owe it to the victims to do what we can.
