Modern sustainable agriculture can feed communities, create jobs, and empower a new generation of small farmers. After speaking with farmers around the state as a member of the Agricultural Leadership Program, Chris passed the nation's first tax break to help small farmers produce more organic food.

He also passed a bill establishing a process for carbon certification to allow local farmers to qualify for carbon credits and be paid for agricultural practices that sequester carbon dioxide.
