The primary responsibility of a state senator is to protect the constitutional liberties of the citizens through lawmaking designed to provide for justice, security, infrastructure and education. Each law must be assessed as to its merit in constitutionally protecting liberty. Law that assaults, weakens or erodes constitutional rights, structures or processes must be rejected.
