Virgin Islands Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett released the following statement commemorating National Farmer's Day:

"We cannot overstate the importance of our farmers and local producers to our Virgin Islands economy and the health and well being of its residents. As we continue to grow our agricultural product and establish our sustainability, let us take this National Farmer's Day to not only thank our farmers and local producers but also to reaffirm our commitment to helping them to maintain competitiveness in the changing Caribbean and world market."
