Higher education in our state is facing a twin crisis. A post-secondary education is becoming more and more of a necessity, and yet college tuition is skyrocketing, and the debt students are forced to take on is crushing the next generation. At the same time, the fight around the budget has caused families to lose faith in Illinois universities. There is one solution: We need to make public universities TUITION-FREE for all Illinois residents, regardless of income or immigration status.
