Issue Position

We are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places in the country and we have an obligation to preserve the natural beauty of our region and champion policies and protections that ensure we are good stewards of our environment. In Olympia, I have worked tirelessly to reduce the impacts of oil transportation through our state and will continue to protect Puget Sound and our fragile Orca population.

We also led the nation in banning toxic chemicals (PFAS) from certain firefighting foams and food packaging. These known carcinogens have no place in our food or water supply. Here's an article in the New York Times about our efforts to stand up to the Pruitt led EPA.
