Gov. Reynolds Issues Statement After Meeting with President Trump

Statement

Gov. Kim Reynolds issued the following statement Thursday after President Donald Trump's visit to Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta:

"President Trump's visit today highlights Iowa's leadership in developing a skilled workforce for the future. I was proud to showcase the progress we've made and the hard work we continue to do to ensure all Iowans can access good-paying jobs and rewarding careers.

"The president's visit also gave me another opportunity to talk about trade and voice the concerns and feedback I'm hearing from Iowa farmers. While I appreciate the conversation and potential progress with the European Union, I implored him to allow year-round sales of E15 and resolve this trade issue that's hurting Iowa farmers.

"Our farmers will continue to do what they do best, and that's produce. By opening and expanding new markets and supporting year-round ethanol, Iowa farmers will continue to feed and fuel the world. I will always fight for our farmers and make sure their voices are heard."
