Rokita, DeVos--Allies on School Choice

Statement

Date: Sept. 14, 2017
Location: Indianapolis, IN

Chairman of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood Education, Todd Rokita, welcomes Secretary DeVos back to Indiana to continue fighting for school choice.

"I'm working to tell the true story about school choice with Secretary DeVos in Indiana and around the country. I am proud to stand as an ally to Secretary DeVos, President Trump, and Vice President Pence in ensuring our kids have options when it comes to education. School Choice means making sure our kids have the opportunity to receive the best education possible regardless of zip code, regardless of their parents' income."

Congressman Todd Rokita has been working on legislation with Senator Marco Rubio to help increase the number of scholarships available to students through tax credits. Rokita has long been an advocate of school choice because of the tremendous impact it can have on education. Secretary DeVos will be at Hope Academy in Indiana on September 15th, 2017 as will Congressman Rokita and his staff. Hope Academy helps give kids with a history of substance abuse a second chance. Rokita has met with leadership from the academy previously.
