Iowa Congressman David Young released the following statement regarding his leadership on an amendment to the American Healthcare Act which reduces the cost of healthcare for Iowa patients with pre-existing conditions.

"Protecting those with pre-existing conditions has always been one of my core principles when it comes to strengthening healthcare for Iowans. That's why today's news that 94 of Iowa's 99 counties could potentially have zero healthcare options next year is so troubling. It should concern all Iowans, and further highlights the need for action because lack of access to healthcare coverage is healthcare denied," said Congressman David Young. "This amendment reinforces my commitment to ensuring coverage for Iowans with pre-existing conditions; it will help make healthcare coverage less expensive than under current law - the Affordable Care Act - and accessible for patients who need it most."
