Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to Senate confirmation of Georgia Representative Doctor Tom Price as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services:

"Representative Tom Price is not only a legislator, but also a doctor. He understands the need to make affordable, high quality health care accessible to all Americans. He also brings a wealth of knowledge to bear on how that is best accomplished. Doctor Price's 20 years of experience as a practicing physician and his decade serving in the House of Representatives will both be invaluable as we work in an orderly and thoughtful way to concurrently repeal and replace Obamacare. We need to accomplish this in a way that focuses on putting patients and their health care providers back in charge while reducing health care costs, increasing consumer choice and ensuring access to health insurance and quality health care."
