Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), praised the Senate's vote to confirm the nomination of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to be administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Senate voted 52 to 46 to confirm Pruitt, with bipartisan support.

"Mr. Pruitt will be an excellent administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency," said Barrasso. "For the past eight years, the EPA has made life hard for families all across America. The agency has issued punishing regulations that caused many hard working Americans to lose their jobs.

"Mr. Pruitt will bring much needed change. He is devoted to protecting the environment and the health of all Americans while prioritizing commonsense policies that will allow our economy to grow. I look forward to working closely with him in his new role at the EPA."
