Rokita Statement on Voter Fraud in 2016 Election

Statement

Date: Oct. 27, 2016
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Elections

Al Gore didn't initially accept the results of the 2000 election. And this was his right, initially. America has lived through the 2000 election in Florida with its irregularities and now, in 2016, we see evidence of voter registration fraud in places right here in Indiana and videos that expose organized Democratic efforts to have people vote in states other than those in which they live. So, it's understandable that any candidate for public office at any level and associated with any party would be concerned and want to reserve their rights under our states' election laws to challenge a close election. That is why the best solution is for Hoosiers to make sure to get out to the polls on Election Day and give Donald J. Trump a decisive victory in Indiana.

I am pleased to remind Hoosiers that because of the many safeguards we have in Indiana law, chief among them being our effective Photo ID law, they can participate in our process with the highest degree of confidence that their vote won't be diluted by Democrats and liberals who are trying to cheat.
