Jack Martins: Congress Right to Stand With 9/11 Families and Override President's Veto

Statement

Date: Sept. 28, 2016

"Time and time again, Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate have come together to stand with and support the families of those who were killed in the 9/11 attacks. Fortunately, they did so once again today."

"Congress passed legislation with broad bipartisan support to help these families get justice and ensure that nations who directly support terror attacks against the United States on American soil are held accountable. That bill was vetoed by President Obama. Just as our federal representatives came together to pass this legislation initially, they did so once again to overturn President Obama's veto."

"The victims' families demand and deserve justice. This new law is a major step forward to ensuring that they receive it and is a testament as to what can be accomplished by working together to achieve an important goal."
