We need to adopt Governor Haslam's Insure Tennessee plan immediately! Because of the State legislature's delay, taxes collected from Tennesseans are subsidizing health care in other states rather than flowing back to Tennessee. Money is available now, with no strings attached, to provide healthcare to about 300,000 Tennesseans including low income workers. Because the State has not accepted this funding, medical facilities throughout Tennessee (including some in Shelby County) are in danger of closing or have already closed or reduced services! We need to pass Insure Tennessee now! This program will also create tens of thousands of jobs, many of them in Shelby County.
