Family Research Council Action PAC Endorsement

Statement

Date: Feb. 29, 2016
Issues: Religion

Congressman John Fleming, M.D., today announced that he has received the endorsement of the Family Research Council Action PAC , the political action committee connected with Family Research Council Action (FRC Action), in his 2016 bid for the open U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana.

The Family Research Council Action, under the leadership of President Tony Perkins, has been one of the most effective conservative policy organizations in America over the past 30 years, successfully advocating for limited government, individual liberties and protection of traditional family values. Its vision is a culture in which human life is valued, families flourish and religious liberty thrives.

Tony Perkins, President of FRC Action, expressed his appreciation and strong support for Dr. Fleming and his campaign for U.S. Senate.

"During your time in Congress you have not only been a consistent pro-family, pro-freedom vote, you've been a leader that has actually fought for the values that made this country the envy of the world," said Perkins. "In today's environment, it's difficult to find candidates who have a proven record to match their conservative rhetoric. You not only talk about conservative ideals, you have successfully fought for them. We have worked together on numerous occasions to impact legislation ranging from protecting the unborn, to defending natural marriage, to forcing the Pentagon to respect the religious liberties of our men and women in uniform. Through your conservative and principled leadership we have actually succeeded on important measures in a less than favorable environment. As a fellow resident of Louisiana myself, this race is important to me and my family. We need at least one strong senator who will fight for Louisiana's values, and not just merely just show up.

Perkins continues, "John will not only be a consistent conservative vote in the U.S. Senate, he will provide courageous, conservative leadership to the nation. I am honored to offer my support to Dr. Fleming in his campaign for the United States Senate. I urge those who care about the future of the family and constitutional government to support Dr. Fleming as well."

"It is truly an honor to receive the support of the Family Research Council's political arm, FRC Action, headed by my fellow Louisianan Tony Perkins," said Congressman Fleming. "Tony has a rich history as a successful legislator in our state and his effective advocacy to protect faith, family and freedom has made him one of the most important and influential conservative leaders in our nation. I proudly stand by FRC Action PAC in the fight against a White House that deliberately disregards fundamental rights protected by our Constitution."
