Issue Position

Snohomish County is not only a great place to live, but a great place to do business. This session, my legislation to provide funds for Washington business owners to replace outdated or leaking petroleum storage tanks received unanimous support. The bill, which allows the state Petroleum Liability Insurance Agency (PLIA) to provide grants and loans to replace these expensive upgrades, will ensure businesses aren't forced out of business. I am also proud of legislation to support the success of our distilleries.

In Olympia, I will continue to support legislation that invests in workforce development, worker retraining programs through local colleges and universities, and new apprenticeship programs so we can provide the skilled workforce that employers need.I will always be an ally of working families and will work to make the state a great place to do business.
