Issue Position

My opponent helps select judges before whom he practices law. Further, he voted earlier this year to give even more power to the Judicial Merit Selection Commission (JMSC), a handful of politically-connected individuals who decide which candidates are eligible to be a judge. I will work to abolish the JMSC. I will also do all I can to change the antiquated system that creates these conflicts of interest by advocating for appointment of judges by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.
