Issue Position

I believe we should fund public education and I will always fight to do so. Rural communities have very little opportunity for Charter and Private schools but I do support school of choice through open transfer, not vouchers. I believe we need to work toward raising teacher pay in order to attract the best educators for our children. I will not support the .01 sales tax to give teacher pay raises. Common Core is gone but we also need to get rid of standardized testing and the school A-F Report Card. I believe education should be controlled at the state and county level and the Federal Government should not be mandating how we educate our children. I support the right to homeschool but will not support state funding for these programs.
