Issue Position

Over the years, I've been a consistent leader on many women's issues including raising the minimum wage, reproductive freedom, and earned sick leave. As Lieutenant Governor, I will continue fighting to ensure women have equal access to good-paying jobs, affordable housing, and medical care. In 2001, I was honored to be one of the many sponsors of H.440, a bill demanding employers give equal pay for equal work. Fifteen years later, we have yet to make enough progress. As your Lieutenant Governor, I will work every day to end the wage gap. By working together, we can show the nation that an economy and communities thrive with equal pay and fair housing. We can end gender stereotypes and inequality and ensure that tolerance and decency flourish.
