Today in a speech at the White House, President Obama outlined proposals for taking unilateral executive action to restrict Hoosiers Second Amendment rights.

"The President is acting by executive fiat to curb the Second Amendment rights of Americans. He knows these proposals do not have the support of Congress, the American people or our Constitution. This is not surprising from a President who has rewritten laws regarding a host of other subjects such as immigration, healthcare and now guns. Here is how it is supposed to work: Congress is supposed to write the laws, the executive branch is supposed to execute them as written.

"I will not give up on Hoosiers and the American people. Rest assured, I will continue to fight this latest guise and protect our God given right to protect ourselves and preserve our Constitutional freedom.

"I have a history of fighting for Hoosiers on this issue and will continue to do so in the coming days, weeks, and months," said Rep. Rokita.
