Issues: Taxes Government Budget and Spending
Just a few months ago, the Louisiana Legislature addressed its $1.6 billion deficit without any serious effort to make budget cuts. Legislators instead balanced the budget on the the backs of Louisiana's businesses, industry and the working families. Worst of all, it was merely a quick fix. Economists already predict a $1 billion dollar deficit for next year. Our state budget faces problems that are systemic. We need innovative solutions that address the foundational problems.
* I am 100% against raising taxes to balance our budget.
