Scalise Slams NLRB's Attack on American Workers, Small Businesses

Statement

Date: Aug. 31, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) issued the following statement today regarding the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) decision to overturn long-settled labor law in their latest attack on American jobs and small businesses:

"It is extremely disappointing that this Administration would hand down yet another win for their political allies in Big Labor at the expense of the American worker. The Browning-Ferris decision upends decades of legal precedent and upsets the joint-employer balance, making it extremely difficult for small businesses such as franchisees and self-employed subcontractors to have the autonomy to grow their business and create more jobs.

"Small businesses and the people they employ are the heart and soul of communities throughout this nation, and House Republicans will continue doing everything in our power to fight the NLRB's latest attack on behalf of these Americans who deserve the opportunity to earn a living and pursue their dreams without being sabotaged by out-of-touch Washington liberals."
