"Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa (PPVI), formerly the Freedom Fund, was created in 1990 to protect freedom of choice for Iowans. PPVI is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization supported entirely by independently raised donations and managed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Planned Parenthood of the Heartland Board of Directors. The mission of PPVI is to foster and preserve a social and political climate favorable to reproductive health and to protect reproductive choice. To meet this mission, PPVI engages in lobbying, issues education and pro-choice voter identification, education and mobilization."
