Summary


The 2007 Legislature submitted this proposal for a vote. This proposal asks Montana voters to continue the 6-mill levy to support the university system. Without voter approval, the current 6 mill levy to support the university system will expire in January 2009. If passed, this proposal would be effective on January 1, 2009 and terminate January 1, 2019. According to 2009 revenue estimates, the projected annual revenue from the 6-mill levy is $12,505,000 for 2007 and is estimated to grow at an average growth rate of 3.36% each year through tax year 2018.
