Summary

* Under this resolution, a proposed constitutional amendment will be submitted to the voters.

* The Wyoming constitution presently only allows a district court commissioner to act if a district court judge is out of the county or if a district court judge is prohibited from hearing a case.

* The proposal would amend the constitution to allow district court commissioners to act even if the district court judge is present and even if the district court judge could properly hear the case

Measure Text

The adoption of this amendment would expand the authority of district court
commissioners. If the amendment is adopted, a district court commissioner could
perform additional duties assigned by a district court judge, subject to any restrictions the legislature may impose by law.
