Georgia State Legislative Election 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-life a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Do you support legalizing abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
Abortion has become a political issue when it is a moral issue. Extreme, tragic conditions where a woman was forced, against her will, to engage in activities that resulted in pregnancy should be treated with compassion and dignity to determine what is in the best interest of the victim including options. History will remember our society for how the weakest among us were treated. The Spartans are remembered for leaving their weak children out to be consumed by animals- will killing millions of unborn each year yield the same outrage in the future? Abortion is termination of a life.
Yes a) In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
Yes b) In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?

Yes d) Do you support the use of private prisons in Georgia?
No e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
No f) Do you support the indefinite electronic tracking of individuals with multiple sex-offense convictions?
Judges should have the ability to sentence based on the facts involved in crimes. Rather than track sex offenders with multiple convictions, these individuals need to remain incarcerated. Who would track these electronic monitors? Sex offenses can occur anywhere so a monitor would not do much to prevent.
No a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?

Yes c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in Georgia?

Yes e) Do you support allowing home school students to participate in extracurricular activities offered by public schools?
No f) Should public colleges and universities be able to deny funding to student-led religious, political, or ideological groups?

No e) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations?
No f) Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
The State has no right to take away the rights of individuals. How can we force people to purchase a product or force someone to take a vaccine? We have Constitutional rights.
