Many State Reps have stated our rainy day fund is at an all time high. We may need to tap into it at this point. It is an option we must keep open.
Most of our increases would be to replace the massive cuts to our important programs.
Our alcohol taxes are near the bottom in the country. It would be a reasonable way to increase revenue for state projects. A slight increase in the gas tax would go towards our crumbling infrastructure.

Yes 3) Corporate

No e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
We need to fight to take money out of politics. Money should not be what decides who wins. Making these races competitive is very important. It holds our legislators accountable. Campaign finance reform helps reduce the incumbent effect. The voter ID law has been very difficult for some rural communities. The DMVs in many of these communities are rarely open, which makes it a hassle.

Counseling is less expensive than incarceration. It will reduce the recidivism rate, while saving the tax payers money. We all know someone who has dealt with drug or alcohol issues. Treatment programs will help them become functioning members of our society.

No k) Do you support the use of public funds for the construction of professional sports stadiums?
No l) Do you support the enactment of right-to-work legislation?
The minimum wage needs to be raised. I would like to see a $10.10 minimum wage. This can be done in increments to ease small businesses into it. Every boardering state besides Iowa has a wage higher than ours. By the time $10.10 is reached, we will be only slightly higher than our neighbors. This is a reasonable wage increase that will not damage our economy, it will actually stimulate it.

Yes f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Wisconsin high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
Much of the legislation has negatively affected our educators. Causing them to seek employment in another state, or retire as early as possible. Lack of funding and benefits will not provide our children with the best educators.
Yes a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)?
Yes c) Do you support state funding for improvements to Wisconsin's energy infrastructure?
Yes d) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
Yes e) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes f) Do you support increased regulations of the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
Investing in renewable energy would be beneficial for our state. It protects our environment, and provides new jobs. This is a win-win situation for Wisconsinites. Protecting our natural land is crucial. It boosts the tourism industry, which is important in Wisconsin.
Yes a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Yes b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
No c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?

Yes b) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Wisconsin's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes c) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Wisconsin's anti-discrimination laws?
d) Other or expanded principles:
We need to fix our crumbling infrastructure. This can be done by, a slight increase in the gas tax, and dipping into our rainy day fund. Wisconsin is near the bottom in the country when it comes to road conditions. The goverment needs to be more transparent and clean. We should eliminate closed meetings, ban legislators from passing bills in the middles of the night, and have non-partisan redistricting. These things will hold politicians accountable. Cleaning up government means political parties have less control. That is something many people want.
