Favorite President and Why:
Harry S. Truman... He was a true conservative and Public Servant. He did not allow partisan politics interfere with doing his job, and perform his duties...
Name one thing you would most like to do before you die:
Set in motion much needed reforms to our Public Educational System to secure the future of our children and our society...
Personal Hero and Why:
My parents... My father because with less than an eighth grade education, through hard work and determination he provided an upper middle class lifestyle. And my mother for raising three children while teaching us love, compassion, and honesty. She kept our family together even when sometimes it wasn't so easy to do so.
Priority Issues:
To bring common sense back to government, to build the framework for a leaner, more effective government which is responsive to the needs and desires of its citizens... not the other way around.
To balance the budget while protecting needed services to our young, our old, and or infirm.
To reform our Public Educational System to again make it the model for our country. To instill critical thinking, and prepare our young for an ever more competitive world economy. To empower our teachers, our parents, and our students to create a new and dynamic partnership.
To secure California's economic base by encouraging companies to base here, to hire our citizens instead of sending jobs out of state and overseas.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
To secure the future of my grandchildren and the children and grandchildren of our people. To help end the polarization of our political system and private agenda's of our elected officials by promoting a true bi-partisan partnership with like minded members of the Assembly to bring about much needed reforms in the way California does business and treats its people.
Besides, at my age, I figure I'm too old to become rich at politics... so I might as well make a difference.
