Reason for Seeking Public Office:

As Randy was weighing whether or not to run for Congress, he had an experience that made it clear why he needed to run.
Randy has long supported Alonzo Mourning and his Overtown Youth Center in Miami. As he was weighing the decision to run, he attended a "Save Our Sons" event at the Youth Center with 100 local boys from age 4-18. Towards the end of the event, a local pastor asked the 4-11 year olds to talk about their dreams. They spoke about becoming doctors, pilots, artists, teachers, going into the military, electricians, professional athletes, astronauts. Their dreams were everywhere.
Then the next group, the 12-to-18 year olds, were asked to talk about their fears. "I'm afraid I won't be able to go to college." "I won't have a good job." "I won't have a family and own a home." "I'll end up in prison." Their fears were equally everywhere.
It was at that moment that Randy realized we are at a critical point in this country where the fears of our youth have a far greater chance of becoming reality than the dreams of our young children. That needs to change.

Randy Perkins is running for Congress because he believes everyone should have the opportunities he had. As a successful business owner, Randy knows how to break through the gridlock and actually get things done.
