Why is Paul running for House District 37? Because his mother, Donna Alarcón Elizondo, who worked hard to raise two children and proudly owned her own small business, now works 50 hours a week, barely making above minimum wage, as she struggles to afford housing near her place of employment. Paul believes that hard working mothers and fathers deserve a fair shot at economic security.

Paul is also running because Clackamas Community College is where he gained the skills, confidence and mentoring necessary to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer and advocate. Paul knows that better access to quality, affordable higher education will help people like his mother get living wage jobs and advance their careers.
